Like I dont see enough shit during the regular work week with my driving students, I go out camping with these "Subie" rally people..quite an experience: The cars: 2003 WRX - Maxed out beyond any WRX Ive ever seen. I mean everything was built up to spec to the Subaru rally car, yes even the color - 1200 miles only on her, we didnt take her, but i just wanted to mention. 1992 300ZX N/A - One of the guys who went with brought his Z to park next to the new WRX back at the house...nice white N/A..fairly pimped out. 1996 Impreza 2dr 2.5RS - Headers, exhaust, etc... running somewhere around 310hp i think she said, highly modified, with one very swanky female driver ;-) 1992 Legacy - Dont even know...badass driver though. And of course my baby was behind them all. Anyway, we're going down secluded back highways by this peice of land that these Subies own out in the boonies, all of a sudden, at a good 55-60 mph, the Legacy just flies off the road and onto the farmland next to the highway, going up and down hills off of jumps, I was behind him on the highway, jaw dropped, and he came flying back over onto the highway and then to the other side...still keeping up with the speed of 55-60. It was absolutely insane. I had no idea that AWD had the potential to do THAT. And then there is the suspension work of course, but still. When we finally got to our destination they showed me what their Subarus could do and i do have to say, I was quite impressed. Very rough terrain and heavy sand, many feet of mud, nothing could stop these things. They were tearing it all up. Almost like a child playing with a toy car, running it up and around anything. Insane. Makes you want to go get a beater of an Impreza just to do that. Please drive safely...and keep your cars on the road - thank you. Good night to you all, -C.D.
